CR Smith Manufacturing has invested £3 million adding new state-of-the-art machinery at its Cowdenbeath plant.

CR Smith Manufacturing said its plant investment, totalling five machines, will make its Cowdenbeath factory “one of the most advanced in the country” and will reduce window production times “from days to minutes”.

The new equipment is reported to be capable of producing 200 windows a day.

The manufacturing facility, which employs 75 staff, is managed by director Colin Eadie, whose uncle George Eadie acquired the business from CR Smith Glazers Dunfermline Ltd in 2012.

Colin Eadie said: “In a business where lead times can be short and expectations are high these gains provide CR Smith Manufacturing with the accuracy and flexibility to always meet our customers’ needs.”
